About Your Host
I am Cheryl Miller the owner and your host at Torquay Terrace B & B.
I am widely travelled and worked and lived for many years in many middle eastern countries, Europe and Asia. I love varied and diverse cultures and welcome people of different nationalities to my B & B and will try where possible to accommodate all needs.
During my travels I have stayed at varying standards of accommodation and of them all I loved the ambiance of the Bed and Breakfasts and have taken what I believe to be the best of them all and translated this into Torquay Terrace Bed and Breakfast with each room being different and offering options but all rooms providing identical provisioning.
I am Australian born and spent my early years raised in north eastern Victoria, Australia and educated in Melbourne. I have lived in every State and Territory in Australia except Tasmania and travelled extensively throughout this country through cities and towns large and small and from north to south and east to west.
I believe I have knowledge to impart if you are travelling through Australia to help with information about this wonderful country.
Having the travel knowledge of Australia I am aware of the “pit falls” which can befall a traveller which can spoil a wonderful holiday. For example trying to fit too much into too short a period.
If you are visiting Hervey Bay/Wide Bay region why rush. It is too much for many to take an early morning ferry to Fraser Island having a wonderful day of adventure then arriving back in at the Riverheads terminal after a feeling tired from your wonderful experience to jump into a car and attempt to drive to hours to your next destination.
This is particularly so for overseas travellers who are not aware of our roads and distances. Stay another night with us, wind down from your day of experience and exploration and then depart refreshed for the next leg of your journey.
We want you to have a wonderful experience in our region and not take off to your next destination and being too tired to make it and having to stop at accommodation you had not planned on and worse not making it to where you had intended.
I am a lover of pets and for many years have owned and still have a rather elderly Shi-Tzu. I would love to accommodate your pet so please feel free to contact me and we will make every effort to have you and your family furry friend.
My hobbies (when I was younger) were sailing, tennis and all water sports. Now a little older I just love lying around and watching the water sports and tennis and travelling.
I have in the past held the position CEO of a large Regional Tourism organisation and Visitor Information Centre just south of Sydney and am conversant with the needs of travellers.
My most recent working roles have been involved with the progressive neurological diseases such as Motor Neurone and Huntingtons where I was the Chief Executive Officer until I decided to take on the challenge of owning my own Bed and Breakfast.
This is not a hobby but a role where I want to give back to travellers the knowledge I have gained in my travels and my knowledge of Australia.
